Northumberland SEND Employers Forum

On the 29th of November members of the Northumberland SEND Employers Forum came together to discuss the best ways to support neurodiverse individuals within the employment sector along with helping them with their transition into adulthood.

Preparation for Adulthood at Collingwood School and Media Arts College

Collingwood School and Media Arts College shared their developments on supporting children and young with their preparations for Adulthood.

Support into work with Bridge Creative

The Bridge Creative is an organisation which provides support to adults and helps them get into work through a variety of projects and offers. One of their current aims is create high quality employment and volunteering opportunities for autistic adults and adults with learning disabilities.

Supported Interns at Northumberland County Council (NCC)

Northumberland County Council’s Development and Culture Team showcased a few their outcomes which they are planning to use as a way help their culture of inclusive employment within the Council, including their support for NCC’s Supported Interns.

Northumberland Skills Supported Internship Programme

Northumberland Skills is a service offered by Northumberland County Council which provides individuals with essential skills to support them with their life and work. Northumberland Skills SEND curriculum delivery team have created an individualised learning programmes and courses which weaim to meet the needs and aspirations of learners with multiple learning needs. At the Northumberland SEND Forum they shared some of the work that has been completed by NCC’s first ever group of supported interns.

Supported Internships at Northumberland College

Northumberland College shared their plans to provide extra support to their supported internships as this program enters in their second year of delivery.

Preparing for Adulthood (NCC)

Preparation for Adulthood and Supported Employment in Northumberland (NCC) shared their plans for work based education pathways along with with offering progression into supported employment at the SEND Forum.

Diversity North East

Diversity North east showcased their upcoming plans for the Dene Center and the potential services which this center can offer in the future.
