My new job at Your Voice Counts

One of our SpLinter members, Jordan Turnbull, has started working with Your Voice Counts (YVC) as a Co-production Worker. Please continue reading to find out what Jordan has to say about his new job role with Your Voice Counts.

Co-production acknowledges that people with ‘lived experience’ of a particular condition are often best placed to advise on what support and services will make a positive difference to their lives. Done well, co-production helps to ground discussions in reality, and to maintain a person-centred perspective. Co-production is part of a range of approaches that includes citizen involvement, participation, engagement & consultation.”

My job requires working alongside with the advocacy team.

The charity Mind say advocacy is getting support from another person to help you express your views and wishes, and help you stand up for your rights.

Our values guide how we work, and we are all responsible for putting these into practice every day:

Being accountable – We are honest and take responsibility for our actions.

Being person-centred – We put people’s needs first.

Learning and growing – We challenge ourselves and each other to help us get better at what we do.

Promoting equality – We work to get equal opportunities for everyone.

Working together – We achieve more by working as a team than by acting alone.
