SpLinter gets to know each other – Point A Networking gathering

On Friday evening SpLinter members came together at our main hub in Cramlington.

It was an enjoyable evening filled with creativity, excitement and ideas. People took part in a series of board games tournaments hosted by Lucy Wayper. They also had an opportunity to unleash their creativeness as they got involved in a crafts activity organised by John Craggs and Frank Lyford.

It was also a great opportunity for us to get to know each other better by playing our special version of snakes 🐍and ladders 🪜 led by Jordan Turnbull. This unique version of Snakes and Ladders had a positive outcome as the game enabled users to have a chance to get too know other members in the group as well as winning the game. Following this monthly social event, we asked users who got involved with taking part what they liked most about playing Snakes, Ladders & Me and they told us that “I liked that people decided to come and watch the game to see how it works then decided if they wanted to play or get to know people better by watching.

In addition, we also enjoyed having the chance to meet with new people and to catch up with existing members whilst sharing a buffet from the Running Fox. We used the second part of the meeting to involve everyone in helping us to develop the Point A project. Everyone was asked how and if they would use the project and to share issues that they would like more information about. The Point A team will use this feedback to keep adding content to the web resource and also will follow up with some of the people to help them sort out the issues they have.

We are looking forward to our next monthly social happening in October. If you would be interested in joining us please get in touch here. Otherwise, if you would like more information about this upcoming event please click here.
